Tombstone Project

   The major ongoing project of the Liddell Chapter is to identify, mark and care for the graves of Confederate officers and officials in our area.

    The Chapter has identified numerous graves of Confederate Officers and is in the process of ordering stones for those who do not have them

    The first of two tombstones for Confederate Officers buried in the Bay Minette Cemetery recently arrived.  The other, for Lt. David Byrne, is expected at any time.  The stones will be placed in time for a memorial service in the spring. 

    Stones for Officers in other cemeteries will be ordered with those closest to Bay Minette being ordered first.
