Private Enoch Cox Osborne

Bert Blackmon

Enoch Cox Osborne was born in Grayson County Virginia on May 19, 1835 and died in Grayson County on March 9, 1911.  He joined Company C, 45th Virginia Infantry.  This unit was composed mostly of men who, by blood or marriage, were related.  Enoch's commander was his first cousin and most of the others had similar relationships.  He served through the war until the end and lived the rest of his life as a peaceful, law abiding farmer.  He had only one son and six daughters.  He is one of my second great grandfathers.
